Invertebrate Medicine Club

Have you ever been to a zoo or science museum without an invertebrate of some kind or another? No way! If you have any interest in zoo or exotic medicine, Invertebrate Medicine Club is the club for you! Invert Club is an excellent way to become familiar with a variety of different critters, ranging from honey bees and flesh eating beetles, to hermit crabs and tarantulas, all at the CVM.

Possible opportunities include:

  • Husbandry of the honey bee hive, dermestid beetles, hermit crabs, tarantulas, and mealworm colony
  • Wet labs such as Apiary maintenance, bug-pinning lab, bioactive terrarium lab, and others
  • Talks from invert experts, including topics such as invertebrate histopathology, honey bee medicine, invertebrate anesthesia, and more!
Sounds awesome, where do I sign up?
If you are already a WAAZM member, simply sign up for a shift on the Invert Team Husbandry Signup Sheet. Each shift takes less than five minutes and counts for 0.25 WAAZM points.
