Aquatics Team

Aquatics Team is a WAAZM sub-club dedicated to the medical care of fish, marine mammals, aquatic invertebrates, and other water-dwelling species. We are responsible for maintaining the various tanks and terrariums throughout the CVM campus and host numerous talks and wet labs throughout the year. Past labs have included fish anesthesia and coral fragging! Aquatics Team is a low-stress commitment and an excellent introduction to a small but rapidly expanding field of veterinary medicine.

Skills gained include:

  • Learning about water quality and husbandry, which are critical to aquatic animal health.
  • Working with the variety of species commonly found in aquaculture and aquarium settings.
  • In addition to exposure in a low stress environment, the Aquatics team is an option to earn WAAZM points which can be used for trips with faculty, the Manatee trip, and for wet labs and other hands-on learning experiences!
